Judd Van Sickle
Biomechanical Engineer

Judd Van Sickle manages the sports performance laboratory for UC Davis Health’s sports medicine program, and provides performance testing and evaluation for elite athletes. He holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Davis, completing his bachelor’s in Engineering Science and Mechanics a Virginia Tech. Judd serves as the head coach for the UC Davis Cycling Team, leading them to the collegiate national team championships in 2001, 2006 and 2009. He has also been racing as a USCF Category 1 Road Cyclist since 1996.

Marlia Braun
Sports and Health Nutrition

Marlia Braun received her undergraduate degree from UC Davis as well as her PhD in Nutritional Biology. She is also a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics through the American Dietetics Association. Marlia has been working in the field for over 10 years and currently works for UC Davis Health System’s Food and Nutrition Services Department as an Outpatient Dietitian. She works in 5 different clinics one being Sports Medicine where she specializes in sports nutrition. Marlia has worked with various athletes of various age and level of competition. She draws on her experience of athletics herself being involved in firefighting, softball, soccer, basketball, swimming, marathons, triathlons, cycling and crew.

Greg Wine, MS, RD
Registered Dietitian

Greg Wine, MS, RD has been a registered dietitian for 15 years. He received his Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science from California State University, Los Angeles. He has managed two Los Angeles restaurants, was nutrition manager at the Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center and developed nutrition classes for seniors at Saint John’s Health Center’s Teaching Lifestyle Changes Program in Santa Monica. He has been an active member of the American Dietetic Association and the National Kidney Foundation. Currently he is a clinical dietitian at UC Davis Medical Center, promoting healthy nutrition for people with heart, kidney and weight concerns.
